Tennessee's Community Assistance Corporation 

 

TCAC is the supporter to many communities of the state of Tennessee through the programs listed below. AmeriCorps staff assist in the placement of members to various sites statewide to serve their communities. The TCAC Depot Program offers products as reduced prices to the community as well as other non-profit agencies to server their clients. The HOME program offers home rehab for qualifying individuals throughout Cocke County, and hopes to expand into other east Tennessee counties.

                Redistribution Center

TCAC's Depot provides philanthropic assistance to Hamblen County and all surrounding areas. The depot strives to achieve the improvement and well being of East Tennessee residents. The redistribution center provides new products and incentives at a rate that is affordable to all without exclusions. Products in the Depot come from a variety of different distributors such as Walmart, Target, Amazon, and many more. The items that are sold range from clothing, accessories, shoes, party supplies, housewares, hardware, and etc. Shipments differ from week to week. The major purpose of this program with TCAC is to help partners, the community, and other non-profits throughout Tennessee provide assistance that will make an impact on an individuals quality of life.

Community Cares and

Making Veterans Priority

TCAC's AmeriCorps is a domesticated PeaceCorps geared for treating America and America's citizens. Tennessee's Community Assistance Corporation host's two competitive AmeriCorps State  and National programs, Community Cares (CC) and Making Veterans Priority (MVP). The Community Cares program improves the quality of life to those who are frail and economically challenged. The Making Veterans Priority program serves Veterans and families of Veterans by providing several resources so they can continue living to the best qualities of life. The AmeriCorps community is continuing to grow in Tennessee and hopes to spread more joy of being a part of such a wonderful program. AmeriCorps makes a difference in our communities and improves the quality of lives of others while providing service opportunities to all.  AmeriCorps truly does

HOME 

The HOME Program is funded through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD) to promote the preservation and rehabilitation of affordable single-family housing for low-income households.  TCAC receives these pass-through funds from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) via a competitive grant application.

TCAC Currently has a HOME grant for Cocke County, TN serving the residents of Newport City as well as the residents in the County.
